Parents pushing to bring back former Rogers High principal | Schools

Rogers High School Principal Scott Brittain may have resigned, but many say this is just the beginning.
Brittain quit after an investigation by the school district revealed "insubordination and misuse of district funds." But some parents are now leading the charge to bring Brittain back.
Mark Ragan is one of dozens of parents who attended Monday's school board meeting to support Brittain.
"Many of the parents have already talked about what we need to do to take action come November for upcoming elections for three of the board members," he said.
Brittain agreed to resign at the end of year after the district suspended him for alleged insubordination.
The board recently released a draft of an investigative report detailing Brittain's actions, saying he went on a school trip against district orders and misused school funds.
The report accuses Brittain of going on a choir trip to San Francisco despite repeated notifications he was not allowed to go.
But in a written response to the district, Brittain said, "No direct conversations were ever had, no emails were sent to my desk, and prior approval was never denied.
"Twenty nine years of outstanding evaluations and great work seems to have been lost in the last 10 months ... somehow we have lost the ability to have relationships and work through the issues."
Attorney Klaus Synder's son attends Rogers High School. He and other parents vow to continue their fight to bring Brittain back.
"Education is about people, not about paperwork," he said. "The alleged conduct they're talking about is insufficient paperwork. That's all it boils down to. What did he do? Did he injure kids? Was there any evidence of an illicit conduct? No."
Snyder says the parents "would love to bring Scott Brittain back."
"And if it's not in the capacity it was in in Rogers, then maybe in a better capacity for the district," he said.
Brittain's attorney says Brittain is currently exploring other opportunities.
